The Rockies Circle Tour (14 nights)

This is an excellent tour for anyone wishing to discover the heart of the Rockies independently while benefiting from the knowledge and experience of a tour and guide.

Day 1 Vancouver

On arrival in Vancouver transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2 Vancouver / Whistler / Kamloops

Your guide will meet you at your hotel this morning. Head out along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway which winds its way along the oceanfront to the Coast Mountains. Stop in Whistler and explore this Winter Olympics renowned town! Continue through the desert of the Lillooett area. Overnight Kamloops.

Day 3 Jasper

Today we head out of town and follow the North Thpmpson River. Continue to Jasper. Overnight Jasper Park Lodge.

Day 4 Ice Fields Parkway / Lake Louise / Banff

Today travel the famous Ice Fields Parkway stopping along the way to capture the sights and sounds of placid lakes, rushing glacier water and the local wildlife. See Athabasca and Dome Glaciers as well as Peyto and Bow Lakes. End the day with a tour of Banff. Two nights Banff.

Day 5 Lake Louise / Banff

Enjoy the beauty of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake with a stroll along their shores. Take a mountain walk to the famous Lake Agnes Teahouse and then return to Banff for free time or optional tours of the Cave and Basin or Sulphur Mountain Gondola.

Day 6 Banff / Waterton Park

From Banff we head south for a day of more exploring as we travel through the Rockies to  Waterton Park.  Along the way we will see a variety of wildlife. Visit the Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump historic indigenous Indian site. Two nights Waterton Park.

Day 7 Waterton Park

Today is spent sightseeing in Waterton Park. Optional boat ride.

Day 8 Fernie

Fernie is in one of the most untouched parts of the Rockies. Today will be spent sightseeing and enjoying short walks and hikes in the mountains. For those who prefer to relax, enjoy the day at the resort by the lakeshore enjoying the quiet natural beauty of the mountains. Overnight Fernie.

Day 9 Fernie / Kimberley

Travel west, with optional stops at the historic Fort Steele and at some natural hot springs. Overnight is on the Indian Reserve at a hotel operated by First Nations in the Kootenays; the Mission of St. Eugene, Kimberley.

Day 10 Kimberley / Nelson

Travel through the winding landscape of beautiful southern B.C. Along the way you stop at little towns and experience some of the culturally unique parts of Canada. Nelson is full of heritage buildings, with a friendly local population. Two nights in Nelson.

Day 11 Nelson

This area is a low island amongst the soaring mountains. Explore the hot springs and the old mining history of the Kootenays. Visit Ainsworth and have the option of visiting the ghost towns of the interior before returning to Nelson.

Day 12 Nelson / Osoyoos

Explore some of the historic sites of Western Canada - gold and silver gave way to the growth of these older towns. You will also have the opportunity to visit some of the Okanagan vineyards and wineries. Overnight Osoyoos.

Day 13 Osoyoos / Penticton / Vancouver

Today head out of the valley towards Vancouver. See the Fraser River and the farming area of the Fraser Delta. Two nights Vancouver.

Day 14 Vancouver

Day at leisure for independent exploration.

Day 15 Depart Vancouver

Transfer to the airport for your flight out.
